Introduction
Adding a custom domain to your website is an essential step in establishing your online presence. In this blog post, we'll walk you through the process of adding a domain to your website using our user-friendly platform. No technical skills required!
Note: Before you begin, please note that you'll need to upgrade to our PRO plan to unlock the domain feature.
Step 1: Log in to Your Account
The first step is to log in to your account on our platform. Once logged in, you'll be taken to the dashboard where you can manage your website settings. Login to your acount here
Step 2: Navigate to the Domain Settings
In the left menu of the dashboard, locate and click on the Domain option. This will take you to the domain management page where you can add and configure your custom domain.
Step 3: Enter Your Domain Name
On the domain management page, you'll see a field to enter your domain name. Simply type in your desired domain name (e.g., mywebsite.com) without adding "www." or "https://" and click the "Add Domain" button.
Step 4: Configure Your Domain
After adding your domain, you'll need to configure it to point to your website. Depending on whether you're adding an apex domain (e.g., mywebsite.com) or a subdomain (e.g., blog.mywebsite.com), you'll need to configure different DNS records.
For Apex Domain (e.g., mywebsite.com):
Configure an A Record with the provided name and value. This tells the domain name provider where to direct traffic for your domain. Copy the provided name and value from our platform and paste them into the DNS settings of your domain name provider.
For Subdomain (e.g., blog.mywebsite.com):
Configure a CNAME Record with the provided name and value. This creates an alias for your subdomain. Copy the provided name and value from our platform and paste them into the DNS settings of your domain name provider. Step 5: Wait for Domain Propagation Once you've configured your DNS records, you'll need to wait for the changes to propagate across the internet. This process can take up to 48 hours, although it often happens much faster.
Conclusion:
Congratulations! You've successfully added a custom domain to your website. Now, your website will have a professional and memorable web address that reflects your brand.
